A faithful re-edition of one of the most famous and popular chronographs in TAG Heuer's history, the TAG Heuer Carrera 160 Years Anniversary Limited Edition is a modern recreation of the Heuer Carrera 2447SD, featuring distinctive diamond-polished angled lugs, three subtly recessed with a silver ring subdials, faceted indices, a smooth domed sapphire crystal with TAG's reliable in-house Calibre 02 Movement. Released in 2020 and sold out worldwide right after, this watch is a limited edition run of only 1 of 1860 made worldwide.
The case comes in a modern a 39mm size with all dial details remaining mostly the same as the predecessor 2447SD. Everything about the watch remains faithful to the original, including the dial layout, polished indices, hands and even the tension ring minute tracks. Of course the star of the watch is a much improved smooth domed sapphire crystal which is similar to the modern 'glassbox' Carrera's release in 2023. The watch even is branded 'Heuer' on ther dial, deployant and movement. The dial is in a silver sunburst color and really is a sight to look at in the sunlight, finished to such a high degree of quality seen in watches sometimes double the price. It even comes with a special box packaging with a nice booklet talking about the history of the legendary Carrera.
The movement is beautifully finished to a high degree, with a column-wheel chronograph with vertical clutch. Engaging the chronograph gives a satisfying click with no stutter of the seconds hand present due to the vertical clutch. The rotor is also engraved with a design showing the 160th anniversary limited edition, which is befitting for such an iconic watch.
The package is complete with all the original boxes, papers (dated 2024), manuals, original Heuer deployant, original TAG Heuer alligator leather strap and an extra BLACK Rally Strap for a different more casual racing look.
